HONOUR COUNTRY SACIRIFCE will be holding another Portrait Session in TORONTO on August 26-27, 2023. DM me for details.

HONOUR COUNTRY SACRIFICE spotlights the members of the Canadian Armed Forces past to present day, WWII to those who are just enlisting as well as those families who have made the ultimate sacrifice. The portrait project aims to showcase the diverse members of the CAF covering all genders and gender expressions, people of colour, LGBTQ2S+ and Indigenous communities. With the goal of shining a spotlight not just on the institution but the individual Canadians that serve.

Photographer Trevor Godinho, was inspired to create the project from time spent with WWII and NATO veterans during Remembrance Day in 2017. The stories he heard, made him wonder what other amazing Canadians stories are out there and are endanger of being lost. The focus of HONOUR COUNTRY SACRIFICE isn’t the usual decorated veterans with medals or the heroics but the importance of sacrifice and service. He hopes that his images will give the public a glimpse of the humanity and personalities of the individual and that the public will see themselves and make a real connection with those that serve.

The project currently is being self-funded by Trevor Godinho and has grown with the help of our supporters.

Trevor Godinho

With a career spanning more than a decade, Trevor Godinho is an internationally recognized artist and published photographer, his work gracing the pages of Vogue Italia, Elle Canada, FHM France & India, Men’s Health Australia, Sharp Magazine, and much more.

His skill, vision, and passion for his art have led him to travel and establish a reputation in Toronto, New York City, Miami, Los Angeles, London, Milano, and Perth – putting him and his camera in front of notable personalities and Hollywood’s leading men and women. In 2017, Trevor was named the Canadian brand ambassador to Elinchrom Limited (based out of Switzerland).

In addition to photography, having graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree, Trevor’s creative range also includes painting, sculpture, and design. His mastery of these disciplines has led to his work being exhibited at Coldstream Fine Art and the Gardiner Museum in Toronto.

Trevor continues to mentor the next generation of aspiring photographers and artists, who he hopes will continue to tell human interest stories with vision and expressiveness. Trevor is an active supporter of local charities, including NATO Association of Canada, Jays Care Foundation, Remix Project, and CTV and Salvation Army’s Toy Mountain.

Trevor currently resides in Toronto, Canada.
