Early this week I had the pleasure to spend a few hours with Order of Canada recipient and Canadian War Artist Gertrude Kearns. During our time together we discussed many things from art, photography, inspiration and the currently situation in Afghanistan. From December 28, 2005 to January 27, 2006, Gertrude called Afghanistan home while working on portraits of Canadian soldiers.

En début de semaine, j'ai eu le plaisir de passer quelques heures avec Gertrude Kearns, récipiendaire de l'Ordre du Canada et artiste de guerre canadienne. Pendant notre temps ensemble, nous avons discuté de beaucoup de choses, de l'art, de la photographie, de l'inspiration et de la situation actuelle en Afghanistan. Du 28 décembre 2005 au 27 janvier 2006, Gertrude s'est rendue en Afghanistan tout en travaillant sur des portraits de soldats canadiens.

Trevor Godinho

With a career spanning more than a decade, Trevor Godinho is an internationally recognized artist and published photographer, his work gracing the pages of Vogue Italia, Elle Canada, FHM France & India, Men’s Health Australia, Sharp Magazine, and much more.

His skill, vision, and passion for his art have led him to travel and establish a reputation in Toronto, New York City, Miami, Los Angeles, London, Milano, and Perth – putting him and his camera in front of notable personalities and Hollywood’s leading men and women. In 2017, Trevor was named the Canadian brand ambassador to Elinchrom Limited (based out of Switzerland).

In addition to photography, having graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree, Trevor’s creative range also includes painting, sculpture, and design. His mastery of these disciplines has led to his work being exhibited at Coldstream Fine Art and the Gardiner Museum in Toronto.

Trevor continues to mentor the next generation of aspiring photographers and artists, who he hopes will continue to tell human interest stories with vision and expressiveness. Trevor is an active supporter of local charities, including NATO Association of Canada, Jays Care Foundation, Remix Project, and CTV and Salvation Army’s Toy Mountain.

Trevor currently resides in Toronto, Canada.
